CodeBlue “Behind the scenes”

CodeBlue specialises in delivering proactive IT services, often using our automated monitoring systems and Service Desk. CodeBlue’s ?behind the scenes? are very important to your IT, but can often go unnoticed.

Below is a list of a number of activities we do for our clients who have contracts with us:

  • We monitor all servers, checking the servers are up and running smoothly. This includes essential services such as Exchange, as email is critical to businesses today.
  • We monitor workstations, including laptops when they are connected to the internet - even outside the office!
  • We check backups to ensure your data is secure.
  • We monitor your anti-virus systems to make sure your network is secure from malicious attacks.
  • Patch updating - this is where Microsoft, and sometimes other software suppliers, send us fixes for their software which we then automatically apply to your systems.
  • A monthly report is sent to a nominated email address highlighting the above tasks we have performed for your environment.
  • And we have a Service Desk waiting to take your call. They can offer immediate support, or escalate to your Trusted Advisor if needed. The Service Desk staff can even remotely take control of your keyboard and mouse, to show you how to do something on your own workstation.

 

But we recognise that we aren’t perfect, and are very keen to hear any suggestions you may have in improving our service to you. We have a formal 'Incremental Improvement Plan' that is reviewed every fortnight by Ian Funnell our General Manager and Mike Mudford our Operations Manager. Feel free to contact either of them with suggestions! For example, two tasks currently on this list:

  • Reporting - Improving the quality of the report that gets sent out
  • Defrag - this is a defragmentation of your hard disk on workstations and notebooks to ensure your hard drives are being kept clean and tidy. Some clients have had this for some time, but we are now making this a monthly automated task for all workstations and notebooks that are under contract with CodeBlue.
