A significant deal for Talk Link
CodeBlue is supporting TalkLink, a trust that utilises assistive technologies to help people of all ages who, through disability, have difficulties with their oral and written communication skills.
TalkLink came into being to provide outstanding assistive technology services for New Zealanders coping with a wide range of disabilities. These services make it possible for everyone to communicate and learn independently in an effective and efficient way.
The term ‘assistive technology’ covers a wide range of technology options. At the lower end there are tools such as writing aids, accessible phones and word or picture boards. More sophisticated tools include speech-generating devices and specialised communication software and hardware. Thanks to technological developments in this area it is now even possible for TalkLink clients to operate computers with their voices or eyes alone!
TalkLink don’t just provide equipment - they also offer a comprehensive service that guides their clients through specialist assessments designed to evaluate the best assistive tools for each person. This process can include assistive equipment trials, help with applications for the funding of required technologies and comprehensive training in communication through assistive technology.
CodeBlue proactively manages TalkLink’s IT network, giving the trust the same value that a dedicated IT manager can bring to an organisation. Included in this support are comprehensive security management, network performance, preventative maintenance, remote monitoring, backups and user support.
